VICTORIA'S STORY

As a very young child, Victoria lost her mother and father. Shortly after, her abuse began at the hand of her stepmother. She and her sister, 8 and 4 years old, were trafficked in both the United States and Mexico in the most horrific ways. When she bravely escaped with her younger sister, she was brought to our shelter having sustained incredible physical, sexual, and mental abuse.

Thankful to be safe, but unsure of what to expect with their new surroundings, the girls were cautious to engage at the shelter initially. However, when they received their new clothing, Victoria was shocked that it was actually for her, that she could keep it, and beyond shock, she was incredibly grateful! The road to healing will be long for these unbelievably brave girls, but we are thankful they are safe and no longer being exploited.
